I was disheartened to read this morning that there was yet another school killing. This time in Oregon.
It all started on a spring day just over fifteen years ago at Columbine High School. Since then, the unheard act of children murdering children has become nightly news fare reducing the shock value to almost an inconsequential event.
Why is this? Because parents no longer discipline their children nor teach them right from wrong? Because “it’s not your fault” has replaced “own up and take responsibility for your actions”? What has caused this huge problem in America where students and teachers need to put their life on the line? Obviously the use of tax payer money to pay the expense of locked campuses, hiring armed police and searching for firearms is not preventing the problem. Otherwise the shootings would end.
