SXSW goes down in history, marked by tragedy.

Sunday the masses left town as spring break, the rodeo, Jimmy Fallon’s show broadcasting from Austin and SXSW came to a close. Unfortunately this year’s SXSW was marked by tragedy. A drunk young man decided to steal a vehicle and drove to Austin. When police began pursuit, the man drove through barricades into the party-goers at SXSW, hitting dozens of people. Three people are now dead, with one more hanging in there, but still listed in critical condition. As I wrote about in my book, Linked Lives, all of us are linked together…our decisions do affect others. If we would all take a moment to think ‘is this the right thing to do, how could it help or hurt others,’ this world might become a safer and more loving planet. Something to think about.

On a happy note, spring is here…finally! I saw my first bluebonnet of the season alongside Interstate 35 on Sunday and, of course, took a photo.
